Questions
Will resizing make the photo blurry?
Making an image smaller keeps it sharp — the tool downsizes in steps rather than in one jump, which avoids the jagged edges browsers otherwise produce. Making it larger cannot add detail that was never there, so a big upscale will look soft. The page warns you when the new size is larger than the original.
How do I resize to centimetres or inches?
Switch the unit to cm, mm or inches and set the DPI the print or form asks for (300 is the usual print value, 200 for many upload portals). The tool converts that to pixels, and writes the DPI into the file so software and printers read the physical size correctly.
Can I set an exact file size too?
Yes. Enter a maximum in KB and the tool keeps your pixel dimensions exactly while searching for the compression that fits under the cap. That is what forms with both a pixel rule and a KB rule need.
What happens if the new shape is different from the original?
With proportions locked, the other side is calculated for you and nothing is distorted. Unlock them and you choose: stretch to the new shape, fit inside it with padding, or fill it and crop the overflow from the centre.
Does it keep transparency?
PNG and WebP keep it. JPG cannot store transparency, so transparent areas become white.
Is my file uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens inside your browser using the canvas built into it. Nothing is sent to a server, nothing is stored, and the page keeps working if you disconnect from the internet after it loads.
Is this the same as "image resizer"?
