Questions
Does the QR code expire or stop working?
No. This is a static code: the text, link or Wi-Fi details are encoded directly into the pattern, and nothing goes through a redirect service. It works for as long as the content it points to exists, and no account or subscription is involved.
Which error-correction level should I use?
M (15%) is the sensible default. Use H (30%) when the code will be printed small, might get scratched or dirty, or will have a logo placed over its centre. L (7%) gives the smallest, least dense pattern for large screens and clean prints.
Can I change the colours?
Yes, both the code and the background, and the background can be transparent. Keep the contrast high — scanners expect dark modules on a light background, and a light code on a dark background often fails to scan.
How does the Wi-Fi code work?
It encodes the network name, security type and password in the standard format phones understand. Scanning it with the camera app on iOS or Android offers to join the network without typing anything. The password is written into the code itself, so treat the image like the password.
PNG or SVG?
PNG for screens, documents and messaging — pick a size of at least 512 px for anything that will be printed. SVG is a vector file that scales to any size without blurring, which is what designers and print shops usually want.
Is anything sent to a server?
No. The code is drawn on a canvas inside your browser. The content — including a Wi-Fi password — never leaves your device, and nothing is logged.
